How to get there:
Take the N2 out of Gqeberha direction Jeffreys Bay and take the R331 off-ramp to Hankey.
Once in Hankey, look-out for the golf course sign board and turn right onto the Klein River Road. Just beyond the golf course, this reserve of ancient Yellowwood and White Stinkwood trees is home to a variety of forest birds. A stream runs through the picnic site, where there are braai facilities and toilets. There is a small fee levied at the gate and the best time to visit the reserve is in the early morning.
Species often seen include the Tambourine Dove, African Firefinch, Green Woodhoopoe, Thick-billed and Village Weaver, Lesser Honeyguide, Grey Cuckooshrike, Olive and Knysna Woodpeckers and Knysna Turaco.
